INTRODUCTION
For so long, human beings are trapped in space formed up with cubic surroundings, which are designed normally for economic purposes. I've kept looking for a way to create a meaningful spatial experience for the users. Therefore, the humanity portion becomes the focal point and a poetic tectonics structure was created in this project.
DESIGN INTENTION
The structure was designed to provide a short period leisure area for relaxation purpose. Great protection by structure surrounded and comfort by silhouette, highlighted with natural light from the top and rear openings.
FINAL DESIGN
The Hidden Shelter
The image of a mighty tree with branches and roots surrounded comes in mind when I'm looking for ideas. The braches and shadows flow gracefully become the protection of the man underneath the tree. The picture merges perfectly with the nature skyline and the man become one part of the scenery.
For the theme of the design, curve and multiple lines were used as elements, with the principle of movement to perform the twisted and rotated dynamic figure. Surfaces formed as the lines assemble.
Horizontal lines on different levels from the base coherent with the layout of the human figure which is in lying position to show the stability of the banal action in the space; and vertical lines to the top, both form the rhythm of nature.
The organic form design can take us back to nature, what we need for rest and relax that we can found in mother nature. To create the feeling, the outcome was a self-supporting structure without obvious beam to support the integrated wall and roof; timber louvres and panels were used to boost the feeling of warmness; integrated openings were created.
DESIGN ELEMENTS AND PRINCIPLES
LINES AND MOVEMENT
Multiple curved lines assemble then form surfaces, the flow created by reinforced concrete and give the spatial experience of solidified dynamism in term of movement.
MASS AND CONTRAST
The gaps were created to differentiate the sensory by solidified hierarchy level. The contrast between the dark and highlighted area shown in the two napping areas.

THE USER JOURNEY
The elegant flowy corridor comes first while entering the structure which helps to relieve stress in art therapy, warmness provided by the wooden beam on left, and also the silhouette created on the pathway, show directionality.
MAIN NAPPING AREA
This space was designed to be an open space with integrated wall and roof. Natural lights are accessible and under control in neutral to ensure the quality of napping. Warmness had given by the wooden beam wall at one side behind. The flow of the space blend with nature and the human figure layout.
DEEP NAPPING AREA
Private relatively to the main napping area, covered by timber finish, feeling warm and secured. Steps were built to create a gap and perform a contrast of horizontal and vertical between two napping areas. There is also a gap on the wall to provide air ventilation.
