TAYLOR'S UNIVERSITY SABD
The project emphasises the understanding of material poetics in relation to user experience, which is the user group of disabled, intent to raise awareness to care about their needs and design with empathy. In the group of three, the outcome is a pavilion that serves children with visual impairment. In order to bring a natural and comfortable experience for children that have no sense of sight, we enlarge the utilization of other senses to stimulate a controllable and safe environment for the user and that's the reason why it was called Beyond Sight.
REFLECTION
We explored the effect of materiality on space forming for the disabled groups that we have not experienced before and inspired by their sharing on the feeling of circulating through spaces without seeing it. We found it was meaningful to understand more about the design for humanity and care about the disadvantaged social groups. We enjoy the learning process very much and believed that it enhances our experience in researching and understanding the users' needs.
